New York Style Guide features Stephen F fall winter 2018/19 collection:
STEPHEN F FALL WINTER 2018 COLLECTION GOES EVERGREEN
Though more traditionally associated with Spring, the color green is nonetheless front and center in the Stephen F Fall Winter 2018 collection – which previewed recently at the brand’s new flagship store at 36 Little West 12th Street in the Meatpacking District (a stone’s throw away from its previous location). According to designer Stephen Ferber, he drew inspiration from the shared visual and cultural cues universally associated with green – from lush forests and avocados, jealousy and envy to kryptonite and Bruce Banner’s alter ego.
With it, he allows the brand to tread fertile ground, imbuing his signature suits with a refreshing, even more relaxed attitude. Though not entirely sweat suit casual, denims are matched well with dressier jackets, some trousers are a touch roomier around the legs, and emerald tones lend themselves well in complement with the brand’s signature use of blues, greys, and blacks. The brand’s signature bomber jacket gets an update. Ties are used with a more relaxed attitude. And sneakers have plush cashmere linings. But the real treats remain the sartorially precision-crafted Stephen F suits and coats for work or play where this time the grass is greener on both sides. – New York Style Guide
